Sneaks of My Japan Goodies

As a request from one of my customers, here are a few sneak pics of some of the goodies I bought on my recent trip to Japan. I've been too busy lately to be able to find the time to indulge in the creative process of piecing together new designs from my new stash of materials. But she was eager to see what's available, so here they are...

Note: Each of the above pieces come in very limited quantity (quite a few are one-off pieces). I have got metal clasps/settings for all the Swarovski crytals to enable them to be made into dangling earrings. They can also be made into rings, but this is subject to availability of the metal clasps for rings. Please contact me if you have any queries or special requests.

Les Fleur Collection

Hello again! I'm back from my "hiatus" and its time for an overdued post. The trip to Japan was fantastic, and the best part is I bought lots of lovely goodies there! Unfortunately, I've not had much time to work on them, but here's a sneak of just three of the lovelies in my stash of goodies from Japan.

Its a floral collection, plenty of various hues of pretty flowers. I fell in love with all the various designs available and like a kid in a candy store, I wanted to get ALL of them! Haha. This is just a few of the designs so far, till I am able to find more time to work on the rest. The multi-coloured pendant with matching earrings is a Xmas pressie for my dear Aunt who loves baubles. I think she's feeling pretty chuffed with her pressie :) (ya, I decided to give it to her earlier, cos I figured she will probably want to wear them asap! hehe) The black fleur earrings are sure to come in handy for any Xmas party do this year end! :)

Allure Necklace

Allure - that was what I felt when I first laid eyes on these quirky yet pretty semi-precious Cherry Quartz stones. These unique nugget shaped stones are so interesting as they are not flat but wavy in texture (see 2nd picture which shows the waves more clearly). In addition, the colours and texture of each stone is different and all these combine to make them so special and give it some character. Isn't Nature simply amazing to create something like that?

The necklace design is kept simple to allow the Cherry Quartz to take centerstage. The different colours as well as the different tones of the hues come together beautifully to contrast well with the 14k plated gold chain that is stringing them together for that classy and chic look.

Charmed by Shells

Charmed by Shells Necklace - this simple Red Agate shell shaped semi-precious stone hangs as a simple solitary pendant on a 14k gold plated chain. Simple yet stylish! Notice the subtle wave-like layering effect on the shell, how pretty and unique!

I took a real liking to these lovely semi-precious Red Agate shells. Aren't they simply beautiful? They have such a lovely texture, no two are the same (thank you Mother Nature!) and its so interesting how you can actually see the different layers and colours caused by the different areas in which these semi-precious stones are mined. Apparently those ones with visible "layering" are formed under sea/water, and the pressure over time has resulted in the beautiful layers of different colours in the stones. I only wish the pictures did them more justice!

Goldie, Glam & Ivory Dream Necklaces

I forgot to include these three pieces in my earlier post on Necklaces Galore. (Old??)Age must be catching up with me! Haha.

These are great for jazzing up a simple black outfit or white shirt. So its perfect for those lazy days when you just don't know what to wear!

Le Pêche Necklace I and II

Inspired by the Le Noir necklace, this necklace is a lighter, more feminine shade of peach in the same style (Pêche is french for peach colour).


I came across another design of this studded filigree and thought it would also make a striking pendant ornament. Hence, Le Pêche Necklace II came to be.

Le Noir Series

This series was inspired by the black cocktail dress I'm planning to wear for a friend's wedding in Jakarta this weekend. My dress has a black lace bodice with multiple layers of soft black tulle as the skirt. As such, this series is naturally black themed.

Starting with the bracelet, the black stones contrasts wonderfully with the offwhite/creamy coloured ones in an unusual chunky dual strand design. The necklace, I decided to keep it simple, with a single ornate black piece that matches the bracelet with double stranded 14k plated gold chunky chains. As for the earrings, black Czech glass beads and Golden Shadow Swarovski crystals complete the black/gold look.

I really like all of them!

P.S. I also made the bracelet and necklace in slightly different colours, posts to come later on.

The World Is My Oyster Necklace

This necklace was ordered by the cuz-in-law who had requested for a pearly necklace in these colours. She found the initial colours a wee bit dark, hence I mixed in some cream coloured pearls to lighten the overall colour tone of the necklace and spaced out the pearls a bit.

I think this is the look you are after, right dearie?

Pink Melody Lariat

This pink themed crystal lariat necklace was commissioned by a dear girlie friend for her sister's upcoming bday. Pink was the requested colour by the birthday girl, and I hope she likes the combination I've put together here!

A combination of various pink shades and clear Swarovski crystal on a 14k plated gold chain anchored by two lovely teardrop crystals.

Enchantment Necklace - part 2

This is the second version of Enchantment, after I had to redo ms D's necklace when she decided she wanted a crimson themed one instead. Basically where the Japanese Tensha bead was previously, I replaced it with two gold speckled topaz coloured beads which seem to complement the Red Agate beads and the large piece of Quartz fairly well.

The cuz-in-law fell in love with it and so now the Enchantment Necklace has a new home! Enjoy it my dear!

The Red Orient Necklace

This is the re-worked necklace for ms D (whom I had originally made the Enchantment Necklace for), who had wanted a red one after she spied Crimson Princess. So I re-did the necklace for her.

Using the Japanese Tensha bead originally incorporated in the first version of Enchantment Necklace, I paired these with striking red Chinese Cloisonne beads and varioius red glass and plastic beads to get the striking look that ms D was after.

I was told that she likes the end result. :)

Cherry Blossom

I fell in love with these lovely Japanese Tensha beads and Cherry Quartz stones. They have such a lovely mesmerising colour. I find myself staring at them often! Haha.

I've begun to incorporate semi precious stones in my pieces. I find them incredibly lovely and as no two stones are identical (cos Mother Nature isn't a factory), it gives the stones such a nice depth and texture and make them really interesting material to work with.

And the clear Czech glass beads make a really nice contrast with the Cherry Quartz! Looks great against light or dark outfits. I like!! :)

The Luxe Necklace Version 2

A girlfriend had admired The Luxe Necklace I had made and was after something similar. I had managed to get my hands on more of the bronze beads in various sizes. I had also chanced upon this interesting 14k plated gold chain comprising of gold hoops which I thought would make a striking combination with the beads (similar to the gold hoops used in The Luxe Necklace).

So here it is, a variation of The Luxe Necklace previously made. A long necklace with mesmirising gold hoop chain, done single stranded so as not to distract from the hoop patterns. Babe, I hope its to your liking!

Enchantment Necklace

This was my very first customised order where I was going to incorporate the use of semi-precious stones. I had purchased a small stash of various semi-precious stones/beads but had not had a chance to utilise them as yet.

The cuz-in-law's "modelling" at work of the necklaces I made for her seems to have paid off. Hehe. I received an order from ms D, for a two tiered gold necklace which was to incorporate a Japanese tensha bead as she had seen the one in Oriental Dreaming and liked it. She wanted something she could wear with her mostly black or white outfits.

So with the cuz-in-law's help, I managed to do a bit of "homework" on my customer and decided that a combination of these unusual shaped Red Agate beads mixed with pale Czech glass beads and a large twisted piece of Quartz (which has hints of topaz and pink colours) would go nicely together. And not forgetting the Japanese tensha bead of course.

I'll be honest - I think this combination of beads/stones may not have mass appeal, but as I understand it, ms D is not your usual "I like pink" type of girlie. She's more funky and electic in her sense of style, as I was told. Hence, I hope my choice of the Red Agate beads and Quartz will not disappoint. But I must admit, the more I look at this necklace, the more it grows on me! And check out that unusual apple toggle clasp... its pretty interesting!

Moonlight Shine

This necklace was inspired by something similar which one of my girlfriends has, although hers are of different shaped beads.

I chanced upon these unusual, somewhat hexagonal-shaped pearlised beads in a shimmery creamy white which give such a dreamy feel to the necklace. Matched with round gold metal beads for a timeless look. Perfect worn with black, or even white outfits!

Pearl Lariat

Inspired by my first lariat necklace which garnered quite a lot of compliments, I wanted to try out something similar (still a lariat) but different (not using Swarovski crystals this time). These light creamrose pearls give just the right elegant touch to the "different" look I was after. And the small gold hoop brings another variation to this lariat. Simple and elegant, great paired with a smart shirt or sleek dress!

Crimson Princess

So the Princess wanted a red necklace, using the red version of the Japanese Tensha bead in Oriental Dreaming. "Red and Pearls!" she exclaimed. So here it is, a dashing red two tiered necklace fit for a Princess! I hope you like it dearie!

The Luxe Necklace

So the princess liked her Charm-y necklace a lot and decided to "commission" me to make a bday pressie necklace for one of her girlie friend's upcoming bday.

Based on her request for something gold-y / bronze-y in colour, I decided to pair these slightly shimmery beads in bronze/grey steel with smaller marble-sized transparent ones. These marble-sized beads are quite interesting, they are speckled with gold dust glitter, giving them a bit of that luxe feel. I like! :) Threw in a few gold rings and making it a 3 tier necklace for that extra luxe oopmh!

Oriental Dreaming

I've had this batch of beads which I had purchased a while ago, that I still have not had a chance to make use of, until this week that is.

Using a mixture of Japanese tensha bead, gold coloured Chinese cloisonne beads and glass beads in a mixture of Topaz and Olive Green, the end result is a necklace full of oriental flavour.
