Oriental Dreaming

I've had this batch of beads which I had purchased a while ago, that I still have not had a chance to make use of, until this week that is.

Using a mixture of Japanese tensha bead, gold coloured Chinese cloisonne beads and glass beads in a mixture of Topaz and Olive Green, the end result is a necklace full of oriental flavour.

Charm-y Necklace

This charm necklace was a request from one of my girlie friends cum cuz-in-law. She was inspired by Tiffany's charm necklaces to want one of her own. Something that she could wear everyday. So here's the three charms I picked out: a ballerina, a fancy heart and a jewelled crown all strung on a 14k plated gold necklace. Perfect for the princess! Babe, I hope you like it!

B'day Pressie Earrings

I've got a gf's birthday this weekend and I made this pair of earrings for her. I've noticed she prefers discreet and simple earrings compared to loud, dangling ones. So I hope this small, pink hoopy pair will be to her liking!

Note: The hoops are fairly small, about the size of a 10cent coin, although it may not appear so in the pictures above
Ingredients: Swarovski crystals, glass bead and plastic pearl

Pink Beauty

My aunt saw Black Beauty and thought it was very pretty. So I decided to make her a variant in her favourite colour - PINK! This pink version is quite a bit longer than its cousin Black Beauty, as Pink can actually be worn two ways as a necklace, either long or short (double strand, attached by a hook which my aunt has for another necklace of similar length).

Note: Black Beauty's variation was either as a long necklace or as a 4-strand bracelet.

Light pink glass beads are interspersed with French Rose glass pearls.

She likes it! :)

Lariat Necklace

I've been itching to craft this lariat necklace for a while now. Lariat necklaces seem to have this elegant and timeless quality about them. Lariats are traditionally very long necklaces with unattached ends which you can tie or knot in different ways at your whim and fancy.

Simple and elegant, I like it!

Ingredients: Swarovski crystals in a mix of shapes and sizes in Topaz, Light Colorado Topaz and Golden Shadow dangling from a 14k plated delicate gold chain

Black Beauty

I've been leaving this piece "half finished" for almost a month now. Somehow, it keeps getting side tracked. I had this idea to create a black themed necklace which could double up as a multi-strand bracelet as well. I liked the idea of flexibility; being able to choose how I wanted to wear this piece depending on my mood. So here it is, my first hybrid necklace/bracelet piece!
Looks perfect set off against a crimson top!

Ingredients: Black glass beads interspersed with Black Diamond glass beads, topped off with a gold floral clasp

The G&G Bracelet

The CNY festive holidays have been jam packed with activities.... I was busy putting my hands to other uses such as the obligatory once a year mahjong session with the sister (not much improvement in terms of skill or speed!) and have been too tired to squeeze in any beading.

Well, the itchy fingers finally got a chance this afternoon to get back into beading action. I managed to finally complete the charm bracelet that one of my girlfriends asked me to do a while back. Mrs T and the hubs are currently away on their honeymoon and celebrating CNY in Vancouver, so she told me I had plenty of time to come up with a charm bracelet (her fav accessory!) in her favourite colours for the year - Green & Gold. When she told me her fav colours, I immediately had a design in mind. For the Gold portion, I would have dual strand gold chains each of different pattern. I also wanted to infuse in some lovely gold hoops I had. And of cos, I had to incorporate the Green element using a mix of Swarovski crystals and glass beads.

So finally, after lying partially finished in my bead box for the last couple of weeks, its finally complete! Babe, if you happen to log in from Vancouver, I hope you like it!

Ingredients: 14k plated gold chains, gold hoops, brass charms (margarita, shopping bag, high heel shoe and adorable Cupid!), Swarovski crystals and Czech glass beads topped off with a cute 14k plated heart hook clasp

Treasures from the Ocean

I finally got around to making this charm bracelet I had in mind for my CNY outfit accessory. I thought no better time to wear this goldie charm bracelet than during Chinese New Year! Fatt ah!! haha :D

So here it is, my mandatory gold trinket for the CNY period... I hope it brings me good luck! :)

Happy New Year / Gong Hei Fatt Choy!!

Simply Charming Earrings

These are the matching earrings for the Simply Charming Bracelet. miss W really liked her bracelet below, so I'm hoping she likes these earrings too! She was after something similar in length to the Everyday Earrings I had made for miss K.

Again, a dash of light pink/peach to match the colour of the bracelet but neutral enough to be mixed and matched with.

Ingredients: 14k plated gold oval hoop earrings, Swarovski crystals, glass pearls and glass beads

Simply Charming Bracelet

One of miss K's friend had seen my trinkets and was wondering if I could do up a simple bracelet and earrings for her. Miss W's mandate to me was something simple and neutral. She had a brown dress for CNY which she was hoping it could match. One of the pink fire polished glass beads in the Barcelona bracelet and the floral clasp had also caught her eye.

Based on her requests, I came up with this charm bracelet, in fairly neutral colours with a slight dash of pink. Basically, this piece can be worn with practically anything - simple casual jeans & a tee, a dress or even with work shirts. It is simplicity feminine chic. I quite fancy it myself! :)

miss W, I hope you like it! Still working on your earrings!

Ingredients: 14k gold plated chain, Maple leave and Seashell brass charms, glass pearl beads, Czech fire polished glass beads, pressed glass beads, floral clasp

Almost Red Earrings

Ok, so miss K "chickened out" of the crimson theme for her earrings she wanted (which were to match her red/pink/white top for CNY), choosing to stick with pink instead. But honestly, I think that was a wise choice, pink definitely suits her better!

So here it is, the almost red earrings which she wanted.... :)

Babe, hope you like them! And I hope it goes with your top!

Ingredients: Swarovski crystals in various shades of pink, tiny white pearl beads and light pink Czech glass beads

A beady weekend....

Finally, after taking a bead hiatus of almost 2 weeks, I'm going to be diving back into the thick of the beading action this weekend. Yay!

I received another order from one of my dear girlfriends for a pair of earrings to match her Chinese New Year outfit. Red is the colour of the CNY season so I'll be whipping something together for her this weekend in crimson.

Also, I'm been working on another charm bracelet for another girlfriend who had "commissioned" me a couple of weeks ago. She's currently on honeymoon so I've got about 2more weeks to get it done. She's given me her colour themes, so I'm been busying brainstorming on design ideas and experimenting. I think I'm almost done...

Stay tuned for the results!
