A Pearl in My Oyster Earrings

These cute gold oyster charms are simply adorable! They even come with their own tiny "pearl" on the inside. 14k plated gold hoop mixed with a sprinkle of glass beads and an extra "pearl" on the oyster. :D

Ice Princess Rose Earrings

Another pair of earrings done to achieve an elegant look. Comprised of frosty pink coloured rose quartz droplets afixed on hand wrought gold wire attached to gold chains.

Yes, I'm on earrings mode of late! Hehe.

Golden Autumn Earrings

This is another "glam" pair of earrings... lately, I've been in the mood for them! :D

I really like the intense ruby colour of these Swarovski drop crystals, they contrast against the gold leaves quite nicely. These leaves swish around quite prettily when you move about, like falling leaves in Autumn.

Scarlett Bouquet Earrings

Usually, one finds accessories to go with an outfit. For me, this case was the complete opposite. I found the dress to match the earrings! Haha

I had made these earrings in my quest for fancy earrings. I did not have a particular outfit in mind, I just wanted to make dangling earrings. I used the Paparadascha Swarovski crystals because I found their colour unique. Not quite red nor pink, but not quite orange either. But I find these earrings not as "glam" as those for fancy evening dinners. They are striking, but as one friend put it, it complements an outfit more than draw attention away from it. I happened to chance upon the dress in a similar colour and hence, the outfit for the non formal welcome dinner hosted by the bridal couple in Koh Samui was decided.

And in case you're wondering, these earrings aren't heavy at all. The 14k plated gold filigrees and Swarovski crystals still feel fairly light. I'm terribly conscious of heavy earrings as I find them incredibly tiring to wear! ;p

A little slice of heaven

Just got back from the Four Seasons Koh Samui. What can I say, but paradise found? Its a lovely resort set on an isolated steep cliff, perfect for that chill out, R&R holiday with a loved one. The hubs and I were there to attend a friend's wedding and I must say the wedding itself was absolutely beautiful! It certainly set a new benchmark for weddings, it was a romantic and dreamy beach wedding and thank goodness the weather held up.

This being my first resort holiday, I was not sure what to expect. Would I be bored? Well, the resort with its luxurious villas are designed with the level of comfort to enable you not to leave them at all! We basically holed ourselves in the villa/resort most of the days we were there. We had the choice to hang out in our own pool, laze on the huge daybed or even tan on our own deckchairs.

The most incredible thing of all? My brain completed switched off itself from my usual busy life and the world around. Not once during the stay did I think about anything related to my usual schedule back home. Not the fact that I was not going to bead, not the fact that I was missing my Sunday Jazz Ballet lessons, nor did I even think about the news in the financial markets. I was completely relaxed and chilled out. It felt wonderful. Sometimes, I guess less is really more.

Off to Koh Samui!

Just a quick note to say I'm off for a short break in the sunny isle of Koh Samui (actually at the airport now as I blog this). So I will be away from my beads for a bit.... Actually heading off to a friend's wedding there, but of cos making use of the opportunity for a romantic R&R trip with the hubs :)

Thanks to the girlies who left me such lovely feedback.... enjoy your pieces! :)

Made a pair of earrings to wear this weekend for the wedding... will post it when I return next week! Ciao!

Sunshine Bag Charm / Key Chain

This piece was made for a dear friend's birthday (which is today as its past midnight right now!). She's not into wearing jewellery or much accessories but she has been super duper supportive of this hobby of mine, faithfully reading my posts and never failing to provide me insightful comments or give me ideas. Hence, I wanted to surprise her by making something for her which she could use. This piece can be used either as a bag charm or as a key chain.

I know she likes the colour yellow as its a cheerful hue and I always remember her with a big smile on her face so I think it really suits her. Thus, I combined a few warm colours together for this result.

Happy Birthday dearie! I hope it got to you in one piece in the post! And I hope you like it :)

Purple Addiction Earrings

These earrings were made for a girl friend's bday which is coming up early next week. We had a "be-early" celebration for her as I will be away later this week. Somehow, the Tanzanite coloured Swarovski crystals seem to lose a bit of their intense purple colour on film.... a wee bit of that purple spark of fire seems to be missing and can't translate across this medium. Oh well, I have tried my best to adjust the settings to best represent the colour, but I have noticed that Tanzanite is always difficult to capture on image. Nonetheless, I think she likes her new baubles :)

Floral Garden Earrings

Been on an earring phase recently, and this piece marks the beginning of it. A combination of Swarovski crystals, 14k plated gold chain and gold filigrees to dangle delicately like a floral garden.

The Double Luxe Bracelet

Had to fix up one of the girlie fren's Luxe-ish necklace as it was not "holding together" the way I intended when she's on the move. Did a bit of tweaking, adjusted the length and it turned out perfect, holding its shape even as she walked about.

As such, I had a couple of "loose" beads lying around and being too lazy to keep them, I decided to use them to make a bracelet. With the theme being chunky, I added on more beads and hence it became a double strand.
Eye catching and luxe, perfect for the modern woman!

Just a quick note...

Its been a busy past couple of weeks. Literally living the "so much to do but so little time" life. It feels like an eternity since I've last posted n beaded... although in reality, I realise its ONLY 10 days but I think that's the longest I've ever gone without posting!! It feels terrible when I've all these ideas forming inside my head for new creations but not had the time to actually sit down and bring them to life.

I've done a few items, but had not the time to take pics of them... hence the lack of posts recently. Hoping to rectify it this weekend, before I go away next weekend.

Been attracted to glam glam earrings of late, perhaps arising from my own need of one such pair for an upcoming friend's big wedding bash. I think its going to be a really grand affair so I need something eye catching to fit the theme, and basically to spice up an old gown that I'll be "recycling" for the dinner. So watch out for the fruits of the ideas bubbling in my head!
